This is a fun intro class to the cool process of needle felting also known as wool painting. This is a dry felting process using a barbed needle and wool roving to create a felted Cardinal. Suggested age is 10 and up due to the sharp barbed needle, dexterity and focus required. The dry felting process of needle felting is achieved by continuously poking and stabbing the pure wool roving which causes the fibers to interlock and felt. Barbed needles (at least 2 in case of breakage) .5 oz packages of wool roving in red, orange and black Small foam block or felting mat A good option is to order a felting kit from Amazon, Etsy, Ebay etc. which should at least have a variety of colors, needles and a felting block
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Felting needles are sharp and students must be able to sit still and focus as they work. Finger protectors may be purchased
