Welcome to my classroom! Students should be ready to have fun while learning division. We will learn by instruction and hands-on activities. Students will show their work/ideas by solving problems either on a whiteboard or the teacher's screen. They will have the opportunity to show their learning to their classmates and teacher. We will begin the class with an introduction of ourselves. I will then move into a brief discussion of what division is and a variety of ways that we can find the...
Goals For This Course: *How to divide 3 and 4-digit digits by 1-digit numbers *How to divide 3 and 4-digits by 2 digits *Different strategies to solve the problem -- long division and the box methods *How to solve problems mentally and with a variety of strategies
No homework will be assigned. Students are encouraged to practice on their own at their own pace.
Please ensure that your child comes to class with a notebook, pencil/eraser and a colored pen for editing work. They may also use a small whiteboard with a variety of colored markers. As well, reliable internet is required. A second device may be needed to play Kahoot if the student is unable to open another tab on their main device.
3 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
