Calling all Cat lovers! Students will learn fun facts about cats and then draw their own cat as they are guided step-by-step through directed drawing. If students have a pet cat, feel free to have them join the class too!

As a certified teacher, experienced in student inquiry, I will build upon your child's love of cats! Students will learn some fun facts about cats. They will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences with cats. The students will then learn how to draw their very own cute kitty step-by step, through directed drawing. Using my own easel, I will give your child step by step instructions to help them create their own adorable cat drawing. Directed drawing is beneficial to children because it helps to develop listening skills, focus and creativity. As well, your child will gain confidence in their ability to create beautiful art. If there is time, drawings may be coloured or painted and shared.
Learning Goals
Students will learn facts about how to take care of a cat.
Students will use their oral communication skills to ask questions and share experiences.
Students will develop fine motor control by drawing a cat.
Students will develop listening skills, focus and creativity by completing a directed drawing of a cat.

Supply List
Please bring paper and a pencil or thin black marker to do your drawing with. You may also wish to have pencil crayons or markers available to add colour to our drawings.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
