Description

Class Experience

What is water made of?  This class will cover some basic chemistry about water, including that it expands when it freezes and that it is polar.  Even the electrons will be thought about to realize why water consists of 2 oxygen atoms and one hydrogen atom.  After a brief discussion on water, we'll have some fun looking at the trials and errors of building a backyard ice skating rink.  This teacher has built a rink for two winters in a row now and has learned a few fun things about water. ...

Learners will improve their understanding of water and ice.  Learners will have the opportunity to think about design improvements to a backyard skating rink.

Teacher has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Waterloo
