This class is taught in Swahili.
By the end of this course students should be able to engage in a simple conversation in Kiswahili including introduction of self and others, asking for directions, requesting for information, goods and services, and all the while remaining aware of the cultural norms and practices of various East African peoples and groups.
Hi there! My name is Doreen and I am originally from Kenya. Swahili is my first language as well as a subject that I learned academically for 13 years. Then taught as a tutor while attending McGill University in Montreal Canada. As a tutor, I offer fun and exciting conversational Swahili classes for beginners. My classes are based on interactive conversations, visualization of objects, games, singing, videos and a glimpse of East African culture to ensure my students enjoy the learning experience.
