Advanced Level
Use it or Lose it! βΊ This class will focus on improving conversational fluency, reinforcing listening skills, reading comprehension and vocabulary building. Each week, students will meet with me and other friends that want to keep improving their bilingual skills. Every week, we read different presentations that I prepare for the class. I cover different topics: β Strange Animals β Festivals Around the World β Debates β Adorable Insects β The Biggest Trees of the World β Black Gold β Latin American Food β Surfing β Sports with Animals β The Antarctic β Why Zebras have Stripes? β Wonders of the World, etc. We discuss any fun facts and the students' experience with the week's topic. All students are encouraged to take turns and read out loud. I keep the classes small so all students have time to share their opinions or ask questions. I help the class with unknown words or concepts and this reinforces the acquisition of new vocabulary while we fall naturally into the rhythm of the Spanish language. Students can join us any week, practice their bilingual skills and meet friends! TODO EN ESPAΓOL!!!!!!! ππββοΈππ½ββοΈ

My teaching philosophy is learning while having FUN and presenting the material in small pieces. I keep my classes small (1-8 students max.) and we do a lot repetition. My goal is for students to internalize the vocabulary so they can use it in their daily routines.
In addition, as an experienced Spanish Teacher, I follow the TPRS Method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). TPRS lessons are a mixture of reading, storytelling, activities, games and repetition. This methodology motivates and prepares my students to trust themselves speaking, reading and understanding a foreign language. I use a lot of visual aids during the class so everyone can follow the sessions.
