In this fun one time class, students will learn new songs that are age appropriate. We will sing the songs and act out the songs, for example - body parts, alphabet, eating, swimming. Students will participate in singing and acting out the songs. Students will also have fun exercises where they are encouraged to create their own songs to sing together in class. This class is for young learners and beginner friendly. Shy learners are welcome. Students will be encouraged in a fun, positive and nurturing environment.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to sing different songs, how to create their own easy songs, and how to harmonize with each other. Rhythm and pronunciation will improve as a result of singing the songs and acting them out when applicable, as well as sentence structure and confidence in social settings.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Teacher Twelve.
I teach my students how to create and write their own poetry and I teach songwriting for all music lovers. I have a degree in Communication and Public Relations, and I am TEFL Certified. I am currently back in school pursuing another degree in Jazz Music. I have been teaching young learners, from 3-18 for over 10 years. I have taught creative courses such as poetry, singing, dancing, songwriting, acting, and beginner guitar. I have also taught ESL online professionally for over 2 years.
My journey of poetry and songwriting began when I was about 11 years old. I used to love singing along with my favorite artist and writing my own poetry as well as dancing to the wonderful music. I actually loved writing poetry and songs and then I won a national poetry contest and had my poetry published in a poetry book when I was 17 years old. That was positive reinforcement that encouraged me to continue on my creative journey.
I have been writing my own songs and poetry for over 15 years, I have a musical band and I write all of our songs. I also am a part of the praise ministry at my church (I sing and play guitar) and I volunteer, teaching creative lessons such as music, self development and poetry/songwriting to the youth in the church and community.
Writing and expressing your thoughts and feelings through poetry and song is such a joyful experience and a wonderful creative/educational outlet for everyone, but especially for young learners. There are many valuable English developmental skills that are obtained through writing as I stated in the class description as well as self confidence building which is a skill set my students can take with them in all walks of their lives and succeed at anything they put their minds to.
I encourage shy students to express their creativity through their writing and explore the beautiful depths of poetry and songwriting. I move with them at their own pace. My classroom is full of nurturing, positivity, and an exciting and fun atmosphere for the students to learn and explore their joy and love of poetry and song.
I am married to a wonderful man who is a bass player and audio engineer and we have two beautiful little cats named Luna and Star;-)
