In this ongoing Scratch Jr class children will be able to develop a further understanding of the app whilst socialising and getting to know other children also interested in coding.
Class experience
In this ongoing class, each week new students will learn the basics of coding using Scratch Junior. We will cover how to open the app and what the buttons mean ( colour coordinated). Scratch jr. allows children that are unable to read to create coding algorithms using the coloured blocks. Returning students will have to opportunity to work on projects they have created and they will take it in turns to share their creations, debugged any problems they have, share what they have found...
Students will gain a clear understanding of the basic coding algorithms needed to create a sequence. They will be able to create sequences for their characters, discuss their ideas with others, plan what they want to happen with their characters and debugged algorithms with glitches in.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
