Social media and online games can be fun and rewarding, but can also be addicting, or worse, dangerous, if used irresponsibly. This one-time, 50 minute class teaches safe social media tips around: Who: Don't share information with strangers and practice good privacy and security. What: Which pictures, videos, and personal information are fine to share on social media? Which are too personal or inappropriate? Where: Not at the dinner table! Be 'present' in the real world, not a screen-zombie. When: Avoid screen-time before bed for a better night's rest. Why: Are we obsessing over likes and follows? Or using the internet to build positive connections with friends and family? How long: Use apps to keep track of your screen time. Finally, I recommend checking out my Teacher Profile, especially my Teaching Philosophy section, to make sure this is a fit for your student. I also offer this as a Self-Paced Class, if your student prefers that method of instruction: https://outschool.com/classes/fun-safety-on-social-media-online-games-tiktok-roblox-etc-flex-class-RApWvRUL See you in class!
