Class Experience
Knitted cord (also known as I-cord or French cord) is incredibly easy to make and offers loads of possibilities for creative projects, such as jewelry, ties, bag handles, and embellishments. In this 30-minute course, I’ll show you how to knit a strand of cord and then shape it into a Celtic knot necklace. I’ll also share other project ideas using knitted cord that you can try on your own (including the multi-cord necklace pictured above). This class is open to all knitter levels, from...
Students will learn how to create a Celtic knot necklace and other fun and fashionable items from knitted cord.
Learners will complete this project individually. No homework will be necessary.
1 file available upon enrollmentYou will need a skein of yarn and a pair of knitting needles. You are free to use ANY medium-weight (not bulky) yarn you'd like for this project. Some standard brands that would work and can be found at most retail stores include Red Heart, Caron, and Sugar 'n' Cream. You can also use any size knitting needles; however, cord looks best with a "tight" stitch so I recommend going with a needle size no larger than size 8 (I will be using size 4).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
