Each day, students will design and build projects like fraction pizzas, colorful walls, and gardens, while learning about fractions in a creative and interactive way. Each class includes a quick math lesson, a hands-on build activity, and time for sharing and reflecting on the builds. What Makes This Class Stand Out: - Fractions Mastery: Students learn fractions by building in Minecraft, making math more fun and visual. - Hands-On Learning: Activities like building fractional pizzas and gardens make abstract concepts tangible. - Teamwork & Sharing: Students work together, share builds, and celebrate each otherโs progress. Class Structure (55 Minutes): - Welcome & Warm-Up (5 mins) - Greet learners and introduce the dayโs fraction concept. - Build & Learn Session (35-40 mins) - Learners work on the dayโs Minecraft challenge (e.g., building a fraction pizza or garden). - Showcase & Reflection (10-15 mins) Learners share their creations, receive feedback, and reflect on how they used fractions. Teaching Style: We provide a fun and interactive environment where kids learn through play and creativity. Parental Guidance
"This class uses Minecraft Creative Mode. Learners must have access to a Minecraft account (Java or Bedrock edition, as specified by the teacher). Parental assistance may be required to log in, access the correct world/server, or troubleshoot any technical issues.
In Minecraft world, learners may need to share their Minecraft Gamertag with the teacher to be invited to the session. This information will be kept private and used solely for class participation. Outschoolโs safety guidelines are followed at all times.
Zoom will also be used for live interaction, so learners should be comfortable switching between Zoom and Minecraft during class.
Pre-Requisites
A device with Minecraft Bedrock Edition installed (Windows PC, iPad, or Chromebook). A Microsoft Minecraft account with an active Bedrock license. Stable internet connection and ability to join an online multiplayer world.
