I have been an Outschool teacher since May 2020.
I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher. I have taught piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and general music classes, in both the classroom and private settings.
I was head of the music department at a private high school in Maryland.
I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio.
The students will be asked to submit recordings of the songs they are practicing, so I can give any tips suggestions that are needed.
The students will be asked to participate in a project together , where we will create a melody, which will become their original composition.
Instructions and guidance will be given, as we are working on the project.
Each student can submit their ideas and the melody measure that they create, to the classroom.
Piano or electric keyboard Labels for the keys (you can use masking tape and a pen, or you can purchase piano key labels on Amazon) I will post instructions in the classroom, for labelling the keys. You will need only to label 11 keys.
Informal assessment
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
I ask that you label the piano keys for your student. Students who have their keys labelled do better playing the songs and they learn the keys faster.
I will post a diagram and instructions for labelling the keyboard, in the classroom.
You will not have to label all of the keys on the keyboard. There will be eleven keys that need to be labeled.
