A rain forest is simply a dense jungle with a high amount of rainfall. Rainforests are Earth’s oldest living ecosystems, with some surviving in their present form for at least 70 million years. They are home to incredible plants and animals. Spend a full week exploring and learning about this magnificent place on Earth. Campers will learn or increase knowledge of the rainforest. Campers will delve deeper to learn more about their selected rainforest animal of choice. Knowledge is reinforced through Venn diagram comparisons, games, reading, discussions, puzzles, and crafts.
I served the Director of Ancillary Services tasked with planning and executing summer and winter camps at a PK-12 school. I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA, a 150-hour master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses and have served as a college counselor for almost 5 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I have taught middle school, have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning Center.
Crayons, glue stick, markers, several sheets of plain white paper, scissors, 10 plastic small or medium googly eyes, 3 basic plain paper plates-not plastic coated or Styrofoam, about 20-30 colorful ringed breakfast cereal pieces, sheets of construction paper: 2 blue brown, 4 light green, 6 dark green, 3 yellow, 1 red. I will email activity sheets for campers too!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
