Class Experience

2~4 cups of cooked sushi rice (2 cups of uncooked rice = about 6 cups of cooked rice) depending on how many you want to make.
1/2~1 Tablespoon of sugar for every 2 cups of cooked rice
1/2~1 Tablespoon of rice vinegar (not the regular white vinegar, but you can use apple cider vinegar) for every 2 cups of cooked rice

3~5 sheets of nori seaweed (You can find these at some grocery stores and on Amazon)

Coloring the rice yellow: 1~2 boiled eggs and take just the yokes. *If you add a little vinegar into the boiling water, the eggs are much easier to peel!*
Coloring the rice green: 2 slices of an avocado or green food coloring.
Small carrots for the beak and feet.
A slice of white cheese for the eyes.
A tiny bit of ham for the cheeks.

A small pair of scissors for precise cutting. 
A bowl of water and some salt (for wetting hands and shaping sushi rice) or a small plastic sandwich bag to roll the rice.

You can also stuff your sushi rolls with other food items like imitation crab, avacados, corn, sausage, eggs, fish, etc. 
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please be aware of any possible allergies your child might have in the ingredients. 

Please precook the rice and prep all the ingredients before class.

Please know that we will be using scissors during class to cut the seaweed.
