Description

Class Experience

Students will improve their fluency (reading speed), improve phonics, improve sight word automaticity, and find text evidence to prove their comprehension is correct. For unknown or miscued words, we will make flashcards for studying.
Reading 15-20 minutes per day; choose a book or story that is not too easy, not too hard, but just right. If you make errors, underline them and continue to read the same story/book until you can read it without making mistakes.
Reading passage will be provided by teacher. Students Materials needed: pencil/crayon, paper (for flashcards); dry erase board/marker is helpful but optional. (Dollar Tree)
Teacher will message parents with students fluency assessment results with words read per minute (WPM) and Accuracy.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
