Description
Class Experience
-Students will explore the Cubist artwork of Pablo Picasso. -Students will create an abstract foil face artwork.
I have taught elementary art for over 16 years and each of my lessons is developed thoughtfully and practiced ahead of time, keeping in mind student skill level and interests. I am passionate about helping young artists find their unique artistic voices and therefore balance guided drawing with creative expression in this lesson. I provide positive encouragement to students throughout our class time and hope they enjoy this project as much as I do!
Students may wish to continue adding finishing touches after class time had ended.
1 file available upon enrollmentDay 1: - White paper or sketchbook - Pencil with eraser - At least 3 pieces of 8.5 x11 card stock or poster board cut to size (no bigger than 9x12) - color will not matter - Aluminum foil (it is helpful to have this pre cut to be 2 inches longer than your card stock or poster board) - White glue - Glue stick - Paper plate (or other container to pour glue into so we can put a paint brush in it) - 1 inch chip brush, craft brush or foam brush (we will use this to spread glue) - Scissors - Paper towels - Newspaper, a large poster board, or something similar to protect our work area Day 2: - Pencil with eraser - Sharpie permanent markers - Paper towels - Newspaper, a large poster board, or something similar to protect our work area
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some materials such as glue and scissors may require parental guidance. In our class I will explain how to use our art supplies safely, but you know your child best and can decide whether or not they will need your hands on help to cut and glue.
