In this two week fraction summer camp, learners will be introduced and begin to master the basics of fractions through fun interactions and engaging activities. This course will cover the basics of fractions focusing on halves, thirds, and fourths. We will explore vocabulary, parts of a whole, partitioning shapes, fractions on a number line, and comparing fractions. The class will be taught using a combination of direct instruction and cooperation learning. Students will collaboratively complete hands-on activities at the end of each to practice the skills that have learned. Week 1 Day 1- Fraction Vocabulary/Memory Game Day 2- Divide Shapes into Squares/Equal Share game Day 3- Halves, Thirds, Fourth/Matching Game Day 4- Review Weekly Recap/Can You Cut it? Pizza Fractions Week 2 Day 5- Equivalent Fractions/ Can We Make Them the Same? Game Day 6- Comparing Fractions/ Are They Same? Game Day 7- Fractions on a Number Line/Number Line Puzzle Day 8- Fractions in Our Lives/Fractions in Action. This summer camp is designed to be very interactive and engaging for your learners! Learner will be highly encouraged to share, answer questions, and participate in the lessons and activities. It is my goal that my learners feel safe and successful. Learning Goals
Students will improve their fraction vocabulary and build upon their knowledge of equal shares, halves, thirds, and fourths. By the end of this summer camp students will be able to make equivalent fractions, compare fractions, plot fractions on a number line, and identify fractions in their lives.

Supply List
Files/supply lists will be sent at least 24 hours prior to the start of class. Learners will need basic school supplies such as: pencils, paper, and colored pencils/crayons.
