Fun Forms: An Ongoing Celebration of Poetry (Writing and Enjoying)

Poetic forms are in abundance, and this ongoing course will let us focus on one or two of those forms each week! It includes all of my one-time poetry classes, and even more will be added as we continue!

The following forms will be taught in this ongoing class:

 LESSON #1 - Catchin' the 5-7-5 (Writing and Enjoying Haiku)"  (Let's see just how much fun we can have with 17 syllables!)

LESSON #2 -  Writing Color Poems" (Let's use our five senses to create poems!)

LESSON #3 -  Writing Concrete Poems" (Let's use our our drawing skills to create Concrete (shape) poems!)

LESSON #4 -  Writing Cinquain Poems" (Simple guidelines that lead to spectacular shaped poems!)

LESSON #5 -  Writing Diamante Poems" (We’ll write a shaped poem that has two topics!)

LESSON #6 -  Writing Nonet Poems" (How'd you like to tell a story in only nine lines and 45 syllables?)

LESSON #7 -  Writing Acrostic Poems" (Let’s write a poem based upon only one word!)

LESSON #8 – “Writing Autobiographical Poems" (This one’s all about you!)

LESSON #9 – “Writing Clerihew Poems" (How much fun can you pack into a four-line poem?)

LESSON #10 – "Writing Lanturne Poems" (This sweet form is lantern-shaped!)

LESSON #11 – “Writing Palindrome Poems" (This poem mirrors itself!)

LESSON #12 – "Writing Quinzaine Poems" (Write a poem that questions itself!)


LESSON #13 – "Etheree Poems" (In this session, we'll learn a form that increases or decreases in syllables line-by-line.) 

LESSON #14 – "Writing Septolet Poems" (This form will have you counting your words.)

LESSON #15 – "Writing Tetractys Poems" (This form will have you counting your syllables.)

Remember, we are all expanding our knowledge together (including the teacher).
