In this one-time class, learners will paint a fun flamingo on the beach, using acrylics.

Class experience

Fun Flamingo Painting: Acrylic: Learning Goals:
* Learners will paint a flamingo, and a beach.
* Learners will blend colors, mix colors, and use dry brushing.
* Learners will describe their work (optional).
I am a certified art teacher in Virginia (USA), and have over 20 years of art-teaching experience, from ages 4 to 18.  As a practicing artist, I have work in private and corporate collections here in the US.   have been teaching art on Outschool since 2020.

Assessment is informal in this painting class, as the teacher makes sure young artists understand every step of the painting.
Grades Offered
Learners will need items for painting with acrylic or watercolor paints, including:

Acrylic paints: white, black, pink, blue, yellow, brown, black, and turquoise.  Glitter paint optional!
Large and small paintbrushes
A cup of water and paper towels
Wet wipes
A hairdryer!
Canvas, canvas board, canvas paper, or cardboard for painting
A permanent black marker, like a Sharpie, for drawing on the canvas
Optional:
Newspaper, an art mat, cardboard, or paper shopping bags to cover work area
Paint pens
An old shirt, apron or smock
Parental guidance is suggested while learners are painting.  It can be messy!
