Hello everyone & welcome to this fun-filled course! This ongoing class is designed to support each learning in reaching their full potential. As a class, we will study crucial concepts in the grade 1 English curriculum. This course is extremely interactive, and one in which will provide each learner with limitless opportunities to develop fundamental reading, writing, and communication skills. I have extensive experience in language acquisition, and I feel absolutely delighted to bring my passion and experience to my classes! This course concentrates on filling in any gaps, and challenging students to grow and develop their understanding and skills, whilst also providing them with all the skills to do so. Throughout the classes, numerous diagnostic and formative assessments will be completed, in order to ensure that learners' needs are met. For example, at the end of each lesson, there will be an exit game, which will provide students with the opportunity to revise key ideas brought forth, whilst also allowing for me to examine gaps that may still be prominent. In my opinion, learning is a very authentic experience, and cannot be approached with the notion that, "one size fits all." Thus, this course will also be very individualized. I will be in contact with families, provide additional resources when necessary, and always be available to answer questions and support learners' needs. Also, after each class, every student will receive a document with the ideas and concepts addressed in the course, with some additional activities they can work on between classes. It is by no means necessary to complete this work. Nonetheless, I believe it is absolutely crucial to create opportunities for learning outside of class, as well!
