Fun Facts in Color Theory is an introductory class all about the ins and outs of color. Your child will be learning how color effects everything in our lives. We all might know that color has tints, values and shades, but they also have moods, definitions and companions. In this 8 week course, we will spend 1 day a week learning about the "theory" of color. I love to interact with children, so each class will be interactive on Zoom and last about 55min. Week 1Lesson 1Fun Fact #1 - Color is All Around Us-We will be exploring how color is all around us. This first lesson is to help your child to open their mind to truly "see" all of the color around us and how it effects us.Week 2Lesson 2Fun Fact #2 - Color and Design are best friends-Do all colors fit together? Designers and advertisers use color to create all things fashionable. They inspire. They help us dream. They guide our fashion with colors. Today, we will spend time on the "why" of color.Week 3Lesson 3Fun Fact #3 - ALL colors can be mixed and matched-Today we will explore the art of mixing our colors to create a brand new color. Learning about how to create our own color wheel.Week 4Lesson 4Fun Fact #4 - You can paint with Primary's Only-Time to put some of our learning into practice. This lesson will focus on creating a painting utilizing only the 3 primary colors.Week 5Lesson 5Fun Fact #5 - There are cold and warm colors-We will focus on the "temperature" of colorsWeek 6Lesson 6Fun Fact #6 - Shade, tint and tone expand our colors-Today we are going to create a piece of art using a shade and tintWeek 7Lesson 7Fun Fact #7 - Colors have meanings-Our lesson today will focus on learning the meanings of each colorWeek 8Lesson 8Fun Fact #8 - There is history in our colors-The lesson today will be a brief discussion on some of the famous artist we all love and know
- The biggest goal for my students is for them to learn a deeper understanding of how color works in their lives. Not, just the clothing they wear, but how it works in their moods, emotions and their choices.
I am a self-taught artist that has owned an art studio for over 10 years. I have spent many years teaching after school children's art programs for our local elementary school along with several years of our children's art camp at our local church. Currently, I am a homeschool art teacher to 8 students. My love of art has me passionate about learning everyday along with passing my knowledge on to the next generation of artist.
