This is a highly interactive class filled with discussions and fun activities that will help children become more aware of how they are feeling and strategies to manage their big emotions in more constructive ways. We will also begin to brainstorm ideas to create a calm corner and strategies they can use when they are feeling unwanted emotions. This class empowers children to know that they are responsible for their own emotions and that they can choose how they want to feel. In this...
Students will learn: - learn that it is ok to feel whatever their feeling - that we are responsible for our own emotions and that we can change this - how to use the engine plate to monitor their emotions - how to recognise their emotions - to identify sources that create those emotions - how to identify what happens to their body when they feel a certain emotion - how to use calming tools to try and get their emotions back to 'green'
As a Self Love Coach and an early childhood educator, I have experience working with children through adults in helping them to develop tools to change their state when met with negative emotions.
To continue to be aware of their emotions and use the tools necessary to get their emotional state back to a green using the tools provided.
1 file available upon enrollmentPaper plate or printout Paperclip or clothespin (anything to clip onto their emotion wheel) Paper / coloured pencils and markers Calm Jar - Jar or Bottle - Hand Soap - Objects that your child would like to see float in the bottle - rice, alphabets, recycled lego pieces etc OR Glitter Jar - Plastic bottle or Jar with water filled half of the way (distilled preferred) - Glitter - clear glue or glitter glue
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
