Class Experience

In this 5 week course, Princess Anna will guide her learners through reading one of 10 phonics books specifically designed to focus on a single long or short vowel per class. Each book features several sight words allowing the learners to use them in sentences to gain understanding of the words through context. The class will begin with a fun Disney themed phonics song that will allow the learners to name some of their favorite Disney characters as we move through the Alphabet. Next, she will introduce the book, the vowel sound of the day, and the sight words we will be working on. Each student will then have the opportunity to practice spelling and writing each word before the story time begins. As Princess Anna reads the book with the text visible to the learners, she will allow each student to read the sight words as they arise. Finally, as a reward for a job well done, Princess Anna will lead a sing-along from a well known Disney musical. This course is perfect for learners beginning to work on their CVC and CVCe words.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Ms. Autumn. Thank you for stopping by my profile! I am looking forward to meeting your little learner soon. I teach preschool and kindergarten aged courses. I have been teaching this age group in online and in-person settings for 6 years. I love to help my students learn proper vocal technique and conditioning using warm-ups that broaden the range and tonal quality. During private voice lessons, we will also practice pitch matching and lyric guessing games while having fun! I have a Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina State University with a major in Developmental Psychology.

I believe my teaching style to be very engaging, encouraging, and enthusiastic. I love bringing smiles to my students' faces during class and helping them to feel pride in their accomplishments. This is why I regularly throw out Hatchimals toys as rewards for doing a great job singing!

In my experience teaching, I have seen how music and singing helps children retain information, as well as create a positive and joyful experience. As a professional singer in Las Vegas and Macau, China for six years, I would describe my style of teaching as “edu-taining”. A fun fact about me is that sometimes I like to teach classes from my class A motor home while my family and I travel all over the country! I hope to see your little ones in my classroom soon!
