In this online course students will create an easy and fun craft based on a creature of the week and discuss some basic facts about it. Mouse= 05/12/21

Class experience

 Most crafts require under 5 items outside the use of common materials like scissors, glue and writing tools.  Also, tiny stickers and glue glitter are optional for extra decoration.  Many students report enjoying use of these extra items.  
Note: If the color of the material is not specified in the lists below, then any color is acceptable.

The first class (week 1) will only require 1 egg carton, 2 googly eyes (or small strip black or white paper to make eyes,) 4 pipe cleaners and markers, scissors and glue, and optional paint and/or glitter. 
A=Ant

The second class (week 2) will require 1 empty toilet paper roll, 1 sheet white paper, 1 sheet yellow paper and 1 sheet black paper, 1 pipe cleaner or bread twisty, a red and a black marker, glue, scissors, pen or pencil.
B=Bee

The third class (week 3) will require 3 sheets black paper, 1 sheet white paper, 1 sheet any color paper,  scissors, glue, markers, pen or pencil to create two cats.
C=Cat

The fourth class (week 4) will require 4 pipe cleaners, 1 medium size pompom ball (or small cotton ball) 1 popsicle stick, 2 small googly eyes (or beads) and glue.
D=Dragonfly

The fifth class (week 5) will require 3 coffee filters (the type that flatten easily with ruffled edges), two very small googly eyes (or black beads) scissors and glue.  The second craft will require 2 balloons(any size), 2 Index Cards (substitute tough paper if unavailable) and paint (or washable markers) the same color as each balloon but okay if not.  A black sharpie (or magic marker) is also needed for the second craft as well as scissors and glue.
E=Elephant 

The sixth class (week 6) you will need green paint & red paint (finger-paint or other washable paint), medium-to-large paintbrush, paper towel for clean up & small water container w/ water to clean brush, scissors, glue, stapler w/ staples, pen or pencil, 1 sheet white paper,1 sheet red paper, 1 &1/2 sheets of green paper (or if colored paper unavailable use marker or paint on white paper) Also needed...First craft= 1 toilet paper roll, yarn or any string (12 inches long) Second craft= 1 paper plate Third craft (if time permits)= paper lunch bag, black marker or sharpie
F=Frog 

The seventh class (week 7) you will need a paper towel roll, 2 sheets of yellow paper, 1 sheet of brown paper, 1 set googly eyes, black marker, scissors, and glue. Also, a pattern to print and cut out is available on the classroom page. (or you may draw freehand)  This craft may stand on its own if you have a paper Dixie cup to place under it; but this is optional.
G=Giraffe

The eighth class (week 8) you will need 4 sheets of your favorite color paper, 1 sheet of white paper, yarn, googly eyes or small beads or diamond dots stickers for eyes, a pen or pencil and a black marker, scissors and glue. Also, a pattern to print and cut out is  available on the classroom page (or you may draw freehand) Please have clay or playdough on hand to make small figure if time permits.
H=Hippo

The ninth class (week 9) will require glue, scissors, a pencil, tape and arms length yarn, 3 sheets dark green paper, 3 sheets yellow or light green paper, 1 sheet of white paper, optional-2 sets  googly eyes, a black -a red and -a green marker, a 5X5 inch square of tissue or crepe paper.
  Last, green finger paint or other paint (This is to make a footprint on white paper and should be done prior to class to help student to allow more crafting time)  Also, optional patterns to print and cut out will be available on the classroom page.
I=Iguana

The tenth class (week 10) will require a coffee filter (ruffle type), multicolor or single color crepe paper (substitute with more coffee filters or ribbon or strips of paper) large washable markers, spray bottle with water (substitute paper towel dunked in water to splash) garbage bag or other table covering to protect surface from water, paper towels, pencil, scissors and glue                                                                                                                                                                   as well as yarn (or dental floss / fishing line) to hang up projects when completed, paper plate, hole punch, multicolor or single color yarn, large many color markers or crayons/ or other preferred paint and brushes, 1 pair googly eyes, optional glitter glue, colored pencils 
J=Jellyfish

The eleventh class (week 11) will require 1 toilet paper roll, 1 old cereal or medium size macaroni cardboard box, 4 sheets of grey paper(or white paper colored or painted grey), 1 sheet white paper, scissors, glue, black marker, green marker, optional 2 sets of googly eyes (see also patterns on the classroom page) Please have clay or playdough on hand to make small figure after class only if time permits.
K=Koala 

The twelth class (week 12) will require a sheet of orange, yellow and brown paper and one set of large googly eyes or white paper to make eyes, glue, scissors, a tiny set of googly eyes, black magic marker, yarn (thin, orange/yellow or multicolor) 5 whole small popsicle sticks (also called wood sticks for crafts), 3 popsicle sticks cut in half (heavy duty kitchen scissors will work and parents should cut these ahead) 4 popsicle sticks cut into half and then half again, 
L=Lion

The thirteenth class (week 13) will require 1 piece of felt (any color but prefer red for ears)
 1 piece of felt (any color but prefer white for body), glue,
two small googly eyes
1 candy cane, the pattern will be available for download in classroom, plain white paper and a pencil for extra drawing if time permits
M=Mouse (felt ornament)

N=Narwal
O=Octopus 
P=Platypus paper bag
Q=Quail
R=Racoon (mask)
S=Seal, or Sea Horse
T=Turtle
U=Umbrella bird (clay creatures)
V=Viper 
W=Walrus
X=Xray tetra
Y=Yak
Z=Zebra

Additional topics not yet added and in no specific order include: caterpillar,  peep/chick, snail, owl, stingray, kangaroo, rooster, pig, cow, ladybug, butterfly, spider, crab, peacock, bat, bunny, deer.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental guidance may be necessary prior to and during class to ensure that students are able to gain assistance if unable to independently use glue, scissors, markers, staplers, paint, tape and other required items.  Parents may also need to review the supplies list and instructions prior to the class in order to help students prepare and gather materials.
