Class Experience
Students will have a unique, hands on experience, as they create a dot painted bright christmas ornament. I lead by example - students will follow along as I teach the dot painting process. This will be demonstrated in a step by step instructional manner. I will be showing how to use the tools to paint this way. We will be learning about paint texture, depth and contrast. Students will learn what dot paiting is and how to use the paint with tools. Along with the use of double or tripple dotting. So much fun. There are so many things that you can be painted this way on. From canvas to wood, tiles and even cups or glass. This is all about the fun you can create at ages 6 to 18.
I have taught this painting technique to people from 9 to 30 year's old for the last four years.
Yes there will be some work required before class to get the surface they will be painting on. Also due to paint dry time there will be times other work should be done after class. All students will be shown this and it clearly explained.
Round tools for dots (chopsticks, knitting needles or any stick with flat round ends) You can look up on YouTube Dot painting tools. Protected table surface ( Paint on a flat space) Craft Acrylic paint: colors required, black & white along with as many clear colors they wish to use. I have used red, green, orange, blue and yellow, purple as well. we can mix colores in the class and make other tones with the use of white or black. Wood round, 3 inch ornament can be purchased on Amazon. Flat paint brush. Bowl of water and rag Paint dish or paper plate. Have all the things set up before the class starts
