February ꜱᴀʟᴇ ᴘʀɪᴄᴇ - ɴᴏ ᴄᴏᴜᴘᴏɴ ɴᴇᴇᴅᴇᴅ! 

Turn an ordinary file folder into a personalized grammar reference for your students!  Students master and practice several essential grammar topics each week, including nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and contractions.  Lapbooks are a fun and engaging way for students to keep track of their learning. Lapbooks are developmentally appropriate for many ages and learning styles and are a great way to showcase knowledge. 

This class is appropriate for CEFR: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2.

In this flexible schedule class, Outschoolers will complete two Monster-Themed Grammar Lapbook projects per week for eight lapbook learning components. Learning takes place through the use of pre-recorded class videos (NO LIVE MEETINGS) via an interactive google slides classroom, by creating a monster-themed interactive grammar lapbook, as well as, fun, group participation games.

Week One:
Nouns, Verbs & Adjectives!
Outschoolers will learn how to identify nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Lapbook Activity:  Students will complete several cut and paste, read and find, and comprehension activities for their lapbook.
Class Interaction:  I have, who has? (Adjectives, Nouns & Verbs) Class Game using favorite, colorful toys or stuffed monster animals to represent verbs, nouns, and adjectives.

Week Two:
Adverbs and Prepositional of Place!
Outschoolers will learn how to identify place proposition and adverbs. 
Lapbook Activity: Outschoolers will complete a monster-themed adverb pocket sort and preposition of place cut & paste activity for their lapbook.
Class Interaction: Adverb Call Out! Students will upload either a video, drawing, or photo representing the adverb called out on the classroom page by the teacher. The game continues with students calling out an Adverb for fellow Outschoolers and the teacher to submit as a video, drawing, or photo. Our favorite monsters are welcome to play along as well!

Week Three:  
Contraction Puzzles & Sentence Types!
Outschoolers will master the four types of sentences (Declarative, Command, Interrogative, and Exclamatory) and its corresponding punctuation mark.  Contraction puzzles link two words with the proper contraction format.
Lapbook Activity:  Outschoolers will classify sentence types with their corresponding punctuation mark and solve contraction puzzles for their lapbook. 
Class Interaction:  Part of Speech Scavenger Hunt. Students will search their homes, complete tasks, and report back to the classroom page with their results. Students will suggest one to three parts of speech for the teacher to find as a class activity wrap-up. 

Week Four:  
Show What You Know!
Outschoolers will wrap up class with making an interactive monster-themed spinner and roll-a-monster sentence project. These two summary activities represent every topic taught in our four-week flex class.
Lapbook Activity: Students will create a vocabulary summary spinner and formulate complete sentences to demonstrate understanding. Students will take this week to finish any remaining lapbook projects.
Class Interaction: Flex Class Gallary Walk!  Our gallery walk consists of students posting either a video, photo, or montage of their completed lapbooks showcasing their finished projects. 

Monster Grammar LapBook Flex Class is full of class interaction! Outschoolers will engage in our classroom in a variety of ways:
•Weekly Monstered Themed Class Games
•Interactive Online Quizzes (No password needed!) 
•Creative Class Scavenger Hunts (Outschool Classroom)
•Submit Weekly Progress Reports (Videos or Photo)
•Final Lapbook Gallary Walk: Outschoolers will show off their completed lapbooks via a photo or video Gallery Walk. (Outschool Classroom)
•Students will share work and contribute to discussions at least twice a week
•Receive direct teacher feedback on submitted lapbooks.

Prior knowledge of these grammar topics is beneficial, but not necessary, as these are skills we will be working on within our sessions.  This class is an excellent fit for the student who is starting their grammar studies, needs a bit of review or older English as a Second Langauge learner.

Parental Guidance
With all class games and activities, safety is always a priority. Please monitor your student as they search for scavenger hunt items and play the Act it Out! adverb game to avoid any unnecessary and unfortunate events. Extreme physical movement is not required, nor encouraged, to complete the scavenger hunt nor our Act it Out! adverb class activity.

1. File Folders (the color is students' choice) You may also fold poster board (cut to size) into a file folder or past directly into a spiral (interactive) notebook.
2. Scissors, gluing and coloring supplies
3. PDF files for Lapbook, supplied upon enrollment, two per week
