Class Experience
This is a Drop-In style class that will cover various random topics each week. Each topic will not build on topics of other classes as students can join or leave at any time. You do not need to know how to read Japanese to join this class. This class is taught in English.
Each week will be based on a theme chosen by the teacher. Students do not need to have prior experience learning Japanese. Students will be exposed to the vowel sounds of Japanese pronunciation, some vocabulary and sentence structure related to the topic. Students will be able to participate in small speaking exercises. The goal of this class is to introduce students who are interested in learning Japanese to the language in a nice, low-pressure environment. Students will not be expected to complete homework or memorize vocabulary. Students will not be learning Japanese in a systematic way. Students will not have to learn the Japanese writing system for this class.
The teacher has a Bachelor of Education, Majoring in Second-Languages: Japanese She has lived in Japan a number of years, attended a Japanese Immersion school in Tokyo, and went to Meiji University in Tokyo.
