This is a fun weekly spelling class with some serious learning! We will review spelling rules and meanings for suffixes (endings), and introduce common prefixes and roots in preparation for advanced vocabulary study! I have taught in my homeschool for 16+ years and taught online for 7+ years -- spelling is just a challenge! English is hard sometimes! It is such a mish-mash of other languages that it creates some crazy ways to spell words that must be learned in addition to the standard phonics rules. Practice and reinforcement are the best tools for memorizing these common words...games and friends make the learning fun! I have a journalism degree from PSU and am IMSE Orton-Gillingham trained in phonics and reading instruction.
