Full Year of Kindergarten Year 2 Singapore Math (2x/Wk Ongoing)

There are 4 terms in this full year program, term 1 starts in Sept. Learners will master math skill using the Singapore Math method, discuss and work on challenging problems with the teacher. They will be engaged in fun math games as well!

Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten
This On-going Singapore Math class follows the Singapore Ministry of Education Standard to help learners gain confidence through mastering Math skills and building foundation for problem solving. 
*No Textbook or workbook is required, worksheets will be provided digitally.*

This class is for:
– Learners who are in Kindergarten and would like to learn math using the Singapore Mathematics Methods.
– Learners who are using the Singapore Mathematics curriculum (from schools or homeschool) and are looking for enrichment classes.

Learners are expected to have pencil and writing skills.

Mentorhood also offers one-on-one class for learners who need extra support with their skills in this class or their school work.

Teaching Method:
Learners are provided with different visual ways of looking at math with the Singapore Bar Models approach. The learning journey begins with the concrete and pictorial stages, followed by the abstract stage to enable them to learn mathematics meaningfully. This approach encourages advanced (higher-order) thinking process, communication of mathematical ideas and problem solving. 
Contents are written by Math Educators and Play therapists who have been teaching Singapore Math over 15 years. 

Each week (2 classes) Class Flow:
Day 1
15 minutes lesson through activities (ex. stories)
10 minutes math problems from worksheets (worksheets are provided in digital version)
Day 2
15 minutes practice skills through math games
10 minutes math problems from worksheets (worksheets are provided in digital version)
