There will be minimal work to do outside of class, however, it is highly suggested that families encourage their children to practice Quizlet flashcards to expand and strengthen vocabulary and structures. Practicing outside of class will give students the opportunity to relate the class material to their own life and environment which will help cement the new language in their brains.Certificate of Completion

In this Spanish course, we will meet as a group once per week to converse in Spanish. In the class students will develop the ability to understand and communicate in Spanish while having a ton of fun! Here is what you can expect throughout the course. Each class will have a new, independent lesson for your child. This class is learner-directed so class topics may be different each class. I use Google Slides to teach this unit. This is a 90% immersion class. I will give instructions and explanations in English, for the benefit of your child. However, most of the class will be in Spanish. The focus of the class will be on developing skills in the areas of listening and speaking. Each class, we will discuss something completely new. Please note that these classes do NOT build on each other, so your child will feel comfortable joining class with me on any date that is convenient for you. Each class will have a new, independent lesson for your child. This class is learner-lead Spanish class. This means that I will be selecting a topic that I believe will be benefit most students enrolled in the course, taking into account their age and level of Spanish proficiency. Learning Goals
Students will acquire the Spanish language naturally while having fun discussing their daily life. We will talk about student activities, foods and other interesting tops in Spanish.

I have been a certified Spanish teacher for the past 25 years. I have a masters in education. I lived and studied in Spain for several years so I have a true Spanish accent (castellano). I have attended CI (comprehensible Input) conferences and implement the CI teaching strategy into my lessons.
