US Grade Kindergarten
This is an ongoing class that meets 2 times a week to work on a single weekly Science concept. Each week we will focus on one concept. This is an Ongoing Class and students may JOIN AT ANYTIME. Activities are designed for all levels of learners. We will work on multiple topics throughout the 20 week rotation of topics. We will learn about scientists, senses, sound, changes in matter and more! Each week will follow the same format, but we will work on a different Science concept. Although topics will repeat at the end of the cycle, activities will be different when the topic comes around again. This is done to reinforce skills and to expand a learner's understanding of the concept. Since this is an ongoing class, it is designed for learners to join or leave at any time. This class will work on 20 week cycle that repeats at the end of the cycle. All skills will be focused on once during the 20 week cycle, however most skills are covered every week due to how the topics interact. This class is an academic class, not a social class. Students may be muted for short periods during the lesson to minimize background noise and maximize learning time. ⭐I will provide weekly resources to allow the learner multiple ways to continue their learning outside class time. Students will cut and paste, coloring, or other activities to help them practice their learning outside of class. Many of the activities, worksheets and papers are materials I used in my independent centers in my classroom. Students should not need a lot of assistance in completing the activity. 🖍️Tuesday -Mini lesson -Teacher Led Group Activity 🖍️Thursday - Activity to Reinforce Skill 🖍️Week of January 29 - Science process 🖍️Week of February 5 - Safety in Science (protecting our senses) 🖍️Week of February 12 - Measuring in Science 🖍️Week of February 19 - Sky (Phases of the moon) 🖍️Week of February 26 - Matter (solid liquid gas) 🖍️Week of March 5 - Physical Changes (Changing states of matter) 🖍️Week of March 12- No Classes 🖍️Week of March 19 - Plants 🖍️Week of March 26 - Animals 🖍️Week of April 2 - Compare living things 🖍️Week of April 9 - Chemical change 🖍️Week of April 16 - Fun with Science.
