Week 1
Lesson 1
Drawing famous anime/cartoon animals 
We will find out how artists create animal characters for anime/cartoons and what different types of animal characters artists choose from.We will be learning about proportions and understanding expressions. We will draw Jiji the Cat from Kiki's Delivery Service, Pikachu, Kong-Fu Panda and even create our own original design
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Drawing famous anime/cartoon animals, Part 2
We will work further on mastering proportions and creating anime/cartoon animal characters. We will draw Bugs Bunny, Thumper, White Rabbit and our own original design.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Introduction to realistic drawing
We will practice realistic drawing techniques. This week is an introduction to drawing textured we will be drawing animal body parts (a fox's eye, an elephant's eye, eagle's fang, snake's scales)
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Realistic animal portrait
We will keep mastering textures and create an animal portrait in coloured pencils, we will be drawing a koala. We will also talk about drawing abstract backgrounds. 
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Introduction to stylized illustration
We will be learning about patterns and doodling. We will be exploring ways to add a personal touch to the drawing. We will create a portrait of a flamingo.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Stylized illustrations of whales
We will be further exploring a theme of artistic expression and ways to create a stylized illustration. We will draw 3 pictures of whales using different approaches. We will be playing with our art supplies (pen. coloured pencils)
 Week 7
Lesson 7
Introduction to art journaling
We will be mastering sketching. We will learn the concepts of composition in art, we will also be practicing lettering. We will complete a page of an art journal about owls.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Art journaling and creative drawing
This wee is about learning ways to boost the skill level in art, practicing speed drawing, and the importance of understanding animal anatomy. We will draw elephants.
