Homework
1-2 hours per week. There will be a very short homework assignment after each lesson to check student understanding. Each assignment is 5-10 questions. All homework is checked for completion, but students may choose to check their own homework for correctness by watching the homework check in the following recording. Homework checks are the first part of every recording. Students can check their work with a red pen.
Assessment
After each chapter, there will be a chapter test. Students will take tests by pausing the test recording when they see the test on the screen. They will then complete the test before clicking play and check their answers with a red pen. Tests are recommended to take to check for mastery of the material. If students wish for a letter grade for the course, they will need to complete the tests.
Grading
Letter grades are offered for this class. Students will need to message photos of their homework and tests if they wish to receive a letter grade from me. They can also keep track of their own grades if they wish. Tests are worth 70% of the grade. Homework is worth 30% of the grade.

Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Intermediate Level
In this full geometry course, students will have the opportunity to work at their own pace and learn all required geometry concepts before continuing their math journeys. I'll cover many theorems and how to prove them, several of which involve figures and their properties. Additionally, we will have a very in depth discussion on perimeter and area of 2-dimensional figures, surface area and volume of 3-dimensional figures, undefined/defined geometry terms, and more.

I structure most of my courses a similar way. I will teach a lesson, give a short 5-10 question homework assignment, check the homework assignment, and repeat the process. This course will include 10 chapters with a chapter test at the end of each chapter to check for understanding. Students have the option to grade their own homework (which I typically give a grade for completion) and tests. They can also elect to send me their homework and test results, so I can keep track of their grades for them. I typically send students a grade update via an attached Word Document through the chat feature on Outschool after every chapter test. Homework is worth 30% of the total grade, and tests are worth 70%.

I'll teach by Zoom recordings and use of Microsoft Whiteboard on a shared screen. At the beginning of the course, students will also receive a Word document with Guided Notes. This can be very helpful for them to have printed out and filled in as I teach them terms, theorems, postulates, properties, equations, and more. There is also some extra space in the Guided Notes document for note-taking. Students can and are encouraged to use their Guided Notes on their Chapter Tests.

I'll be available for students to ask questions through the chat feature on Outschool. I try my best to respond to all students within 24 hours. Students can also post pictures of their homework and tests on the matching discussion posting. I will respond to those as well with their grade on the homework and some words of encouragement.
