Frozen Phonics and Blends Class: Ongoing

In this fun and interactive class, students will blend letter sounds while seeing their favorite Frozen characters. Students should come to this class with a prior knowledge of some of the letters of the alphabet and their sounds. We will then take that knowledge and blend the letter sounds together. Blending is the first step towards reading, and students will begin to make connections to words that they already know! Activities included in this class include:
-A phonics song with their favorite Frozen characters
-Recognition of letters and their sounds with Frozen characters
-Blending letter sounds
-Practicing handwriting blends. We will learn 5 blends weekly. (Handwriting sheet provided weekly on the classroom page)
-Ending each class with a Frozen song

Here is an example of what the first four weeks of class would cover:
Week of May 2-8: Phonics song, Recognition of letters and sounds, blending (BA, BE, BI, BO, BU), and writing those blends. 
Week of May 9-15: Phonics song, Recognition of letters and sounds, blending (CA, KE, KI, CO, CU), and writing those blends.
Week of May 16-22: Phonics song, Recognition of letters and sounds, blending (DA, DE, DI, DO, DU), and writing those blends. 
Week of May 23-29: Phonics song, Recognition of letters and sounds, blending (FA, FE, FI, FO, FU), and writing those blends.
