US Grade 3 - 6
Empower kids ages 8-12 to manage stress and anxiety, shift their mindset, and build confidence! This engaging, interactive course provides a clear and easy-to-understand overview of anxiety. Kids will discover what’s happening in their brain and body when they feel anxious and how to use those signals as clues to practice effective coping skills and self-care. They'll learn to challenge self-defeating thoughts, turn negative thinking into positive, and develop mindfulness and self-compassion. The course also focuses on using their unique strengths to find motivation, growing from mistakes with a growth mindset, and tackling social anxiety, rejection, and fear of failure, including practical steps for facing fears. In addition, learners will understand the importance of self-care for the whole person—how sleep, healthy eating, exercise, and time in nature and on screens can impact their anxiety and stress. The skills taught in this course will benefit kids at home, in school, and throughout their lives, even into adulthood. over 8 WeeksLesson 1:
Getting to Know Your Worries is Empowering!
In this lesson, kids will learn what worry and anxiety are, the science behind anxiety and why it happens, reasons kids worry, and how worrisome thoughts impact their body and emotions.
Plus, kids will discover how to use their signs of worry as clues and understand the difference between helpful worries that keep them safe and unhelpful worries that hold them back.
Best of all, they'll learn how to identify and use their personal strengths to manage their worries!

Lesson 2:
Challenging Your Worries
In this lesson, kids will explore and practice how to recognize and challenge their worries. They'll learn that thoughts aren’t always facts and will learn how to retrain their brains to think more positively and realistically.
They'll also practice listening to their inner voice to see if it acts as a critical inner voice bringing them down or a strong, supportive voice lifting them up.
Kids will also explore how to respond to their inner critics and practice speaking kindly to themselves!

Lesson 3:
Powerful New Ways of Thinking
In this lesson, kids will learn how to identify unhelpful thoughts and spot mental traps. They'll discover how to problem-solve and let go of perfectionism.
They will explore the thought-feeling-action triangle - how their thoughts influence their feelings and how their feelings influence their actions. They'll discover how to reframe negative thoughts and how to creates positive and empowering ones.
Plus, they'll explore the amazing power of the Growth Mindset and how it can help them grow!

Lesson 4:
Emotional Awareness : Mindfulness is a Super Power!
In this lesson, kids will reflect on how worry impacts their emotional and physical reactions. They'll explore the connection between worry and emotions, understand why they feel certain ways, and understand how emotions manifest in the body.
They'll also discover how to develop self-awareness to learn from emotions, cope with stress, and practice gratitude.
Kids will practice proven mindfulness and relaxation strategies to help them feel more joyful, peaceful and at ease!

Over the past 15 years, I have provided therapy, self-esteem and social skills classes for youth ages 5-21 in the private practice, community and school settings. I have had the privilege of helping many kids overcome obstacles and develop confidence and healthy self-confidence.
