Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Students will gain a valuable understanding of an intro to the formal elements of art, specifically shape and texture. They will learn how to use non-traditional materials to complete a successful work of art.
Mrs. Pariso is a licensed teacher who has been teaching art to grades 6 - 12 for the past 5 years in a public school setting in Virginia. She earned her BFA in 2-D Design/Printmaking from The Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, MA in 2013. She has served in her arts community in many roles such as art teacher, art show judge, art handler, and art gallery director.
- One blank sketchbook, notebook, or a recycled book or magazine that you would like to use to decorate the cover (the possibilities are endless!) - Scissors if preferred (we can also tear paper to make a collage) - Glue stick or washable liquid glue - Scrap paper, junk mail, sequins, buttons, water bottle caps, stamps, or anything creative that you can reuse to make into a collage (the choice is yours!)
Mrs. Pariso will give verbal, positive reinforcement and encouragement throughout the class. After the class, she will send individual written feedback to parents/guardians.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
