Writing your thoughts down in a concise and comprehensive manner is a key literary skill to acquire. In this class, students learn to differentiate between a summary and an analysis of various literary pieces. Each week students will learn to summarize and then analyze a different form of literature. Week 1: Summary/Analysis of Fictional Short Story. Homework assigned. Students will learn the differences between a Summary and an Analysis. They will learn to write short but cohesive paragraphs of each.
Homework Offered
Each week, writing homework will be assigned to practice the skills taught in class. Students will be required to write short paragraphs that highlight summaries of stories/nonfiction and their analysis of them.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
