In a fun way, this class introduces a concept of working with a “model” or a reference photo to sketch and develop your drawings. Learners will select a person, posing in a sitting, walking or dancing pose, from a photo (photographs with a variety of poses will be offered) but then imagine this same person in a different context, based on the pose. In the final drawing, learners will add clothing to the figure and put it in a setting according to the context they had imagined. If time allows,...
Learners will improve their understanding of how to draw a human figure.
No homework, but some learners may want to finish their drawings after class.
Drawing paper, a pencil, an eraser, optional: color materials such as colored pencils or markers.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will be looking at student artwork throughout the class to check for understanding.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
