From Seeds to Pumpkins - Fun Fall Science Class for Preschool and Kindergarten
In this one time class we will learn the life cycle of a pumpkin. We will start with a seed, and learn all of the phases of a pumpkins life. We will learn fun pumpkin facts too!

In this class from Seeds to Pumpkins. We will learn all about the life cycle of a pumpkin. We will do a worksheet together in class as we read a book called From Seed to Pumpkin. We will learn a lot of fun pumpkin facts throughout the class too. Students will need to print a page for this class, and they will need scissors, a glue stick, and crayons (optional). The key vocabulary words are: seeds, sprout, vine, flower, green pumpkin, and orange pumpkin. The children will need to be able to cut and use a glue stick.
Learning Goals
The goals of this class will be to identify the 6 phases of a pumpkins life cycle (seed, sprout, vine, flower, green pumpkin, and orange pumpkin). We will also learn where pumpkins are grown, which state grows the most pumpkins, and how long it takes to go from a seed to a pumpkin.
Learners will also get to practice cutting and pasting as they follow directions.

Parental Guidance
Parents may have to assist students with the cutting and pasting.
Supply List
Parents will need to print off the worksheets that we will use in class. Students will need scissors, and glue. Crayons are optional. If you choose to print the worksheet in color, crayons will not be needed.

Hello! My name is Melissa Lohman. I have a degree in Elementary Education. I also have a special endorsement in early childhood education, language arts, and Spanish. I have taught kindergarten all the way up to 8th grade Spanish. Teaching is my passion, and I am a people person! I absolutely love seeing young learners as they make new connections and seeing the joy that they experience as they learn, it really fills me up!
