From Script to Screen...Character Development for Beginner Actors

In this 2 week course, students will learn the basics of how to take characters from a script and develop them into believable characters for theatrical productions. 

Class will begin with brief introductions from the teacher and learners.  Next, students will view a slide presentation to learn the meaning of the words "character development," and why it is the most important thing to master for acting. 
Students will take turns reading character lines in a script created by the teacher. Some of the things learners will experience in this course are:

- Learning how to create a character analysis
- Learning to use their own experiences to create character motivation
- Learning to use their 5 senses to bring a character to life 
- Learning to use information in a script to develop a character

Prior to the first class, students are expected to have read through the attached excerpt taken from the script of Poetry & Life. During the first class, learners and teacher will have an open  discussion about the characters David, Nicole, Lisa, and Ms. Kim from the script. 

As per Outschool policy, only the registered student will be allowed to attend class.
