In this class, learners will find out about the new seven wonders of the world: The Great Wall of China, Petra, The Colosseum, The Taj Mahal, Chichen Itza, Machu Picchu and Christ The Redeemer. We will discuss the location, history and appeal of these wonders. A combination of flash cards, slides and videos will be used and interactive games will be played at the beginning and end of the class. Games may include Heads up!, Guess the Wonder and Where in the World. Learners will get to draw their favourite wonder of the world at the end of the class so please bring some paper and colour pens for this activity. This class is quite interactive and students are encouraged to keep their cameras on and ask as many questions as they like!

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Maya and I graduated from the University of Oxford with a geography degree in 2013. Since then I have worked in the humanitarian sector for the British Red Cross and worked as a private tutor around the world. I am grateful that I can share my academic interests on Outschool and meet curious learners from around the world. I offer a variety of classes on geography, history, literature, art history, philosophy, classical civilisation and yoga. My classes are interactive and discussion based and all types of learners are welcome to come and participate. When I am not teaching, I am an avid gardener, nature lover, tennis player and chess enthusiast.
