Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
In this one-time class, students will explore the relationship between multiplication and division facts. The lesson will help students apply their knowledge of times tables to solve division problems

Students will be introduced to the concept of multiplication and division fact families, which are sets of four related multiplication and division facts.

Example (2, 3, 6):
2 x 3 = 6
3 x 2 = 6
6 ÷ 3 = 2
6 ÷ 2 = 3

After direct instruction, students will practice drawing arrays to visually represent each of the four equations in a fact family. This will help students understand why the facts are related.

Next, students will practice applying this knowledge to word problems in a matching activity.

Then, students will learn to list fact families when given three related numbers.

Finally, students will use their new knowledge of fact families to solve division problems.

This class is designed for students who have a solid understanding of multiplication facts, but who are not yet experienced in division.

My teaching style is energetic and casual. I like to adjust my lessons in real-time to meet the needs of my students.

Students need only bring a pencil and paper.

Welcome to Ms. Jericha’s Mathprov Academy!

We’re all about combining the awesomeness of math with the magic of improv.

Our mission? It’s a two-in-one deal. First, we embrace the “yes, and” rule from improv and weave it into our online classes. We meet students right where they’re at (that’s the “yes” part!), and then we kick it up a notch by adding to what they already know and helping them soar (that’s the “and” part!).

We’re not afraid to switch things up, adapt on the fly, and keep the learning experience fresh and exciting.

Whether your child enrolls in our group math classes, private tutoring, or improv courses, it’s about unleashing their creativity, boosting their confidence, and embracing spontaneity.

At Ms. Jericha’s Mathprov Academy, we’re not just teaching – we’re inspiring, empowering, and having an absolute blast along the way. Get ready to rock math and roll with improv like never before!

⭐NEW TEACHER SPOTLIGHT⭐

🍎Ms. Jennifer - Math Teacher

I'm Jennifer, I have over twenty years of experience in education. Throughout my career, I've worked with students ranging from preschoolers to college-level learners. My teaching journey has taken me into traditional classroom settings, one-on-one tutoring sessions, and the online classroom. Regardless of where I am teaching, my greatest passion lies in fostering meaningful connections between my students and the subject matter.

I enjoy connecting with students in a fun and engaging environment. I believe that this helps foster an environment where students can learn and improve and become masters of the subject they are studying.

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family, I have 3 children and my husband and our Boston Terrier, Maverick.

I look forward to working with you soon!

🍎Ms. Jericha - Founder and Lead Teacher

My name is Jericha. I teach math and improv classes at the upper elementary and middle school levels. I like to connect course material to my students' interests and passions.

I hold a bachelor's degree in elementary education, with a minor in theatre. I have also held multiple state teaching licenses with endorsements in elementary education and middle school theatre.

I spent two years as a 5th-grade teacher in a public school setting, and a year as a kindergarten teacher in a private childcare setting. However, the last six years have been dedicated to creating the best learning experience possible for students in online settings.

I believe in engaging students in an energetic and casual environment. I want my students to leave my classroom feeling like they learned something, had fun, and were seen and understood by their teacher. I earn so much satisfaction from watching my students grow over time, and feeling like I had a small part in helping them to become the people they want to be.

When I'm not in the classroom, I love spending time with my five-year-old daughter, my spouse, and our two snuggly cats! I am obsessed with Broadway, Disney movies, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I look forward to getting to know your learner!
