I am super excited for this class. First, we will have a story time. I will read the book, "Froggy Bakes a Cake" bu Jonathan London. I love Froggy books, and this one is one of my favorites. We will have times of discussion throughout the story. I like teaching with an interactive teaching style. After story time, each learner will get to make their own individual mug cake. It really is as easy as 3,2.1. We will get to enjoy our delicious cakes together, as we tell our favorite parts of...
Students will get to hear a fun story, and we will discuss it along the way. I love interactive story times. Then, they will feel so accomplished as the make their own cake! It is as simple as 3,2,1. They will all need guidance and supervision, but it is an easy "baking" activity that children are sure to love! I also love how fail proof this recipe is. It will help them gain confidence in being a successful "cook". We will also learn level measuring techniques and how to mix or stir.
Each learner will need a tablespoon, a microwaveable mug or ramekin, a spoon for stirring, a microwave, a cake mix (any kind is fine), and water. Please have all the items ready before class. We will not use them until after story time.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental guidance will be needed during the cake making part. However, there will be no oven used. We will be microwaving in microwaveable safe mugs. The only utensils needed are a spoon to mix and a TBSP to measure. You will be needing 3 TBSP. of a cake mix of your choice. This can be any brand or type, which makes it perfect for children with allergies. You use the flavor and type of cake you want.
