US Grade 1 - 3
Before reading I will demonstrate critical thinking skills, such as studying the cover, and engage students to compare and contrast facts about frogs and toads. While reading, I will prompt students to think about why characters say and do certain things. Students will think whether they agree with the character(s), and what they might do if they were one of the characters. After reading, students will learn how to summarize a story in a few sentences by identifying the problem, solution, and conclusion.
