Class Experience

Students will learn basic literary elements of novel. This will include theme, plot, character analysis, genre, and more.
I taught Reading for over ten years. Frindle was a book I used often in class to teach literary elements. I have a Masters in Ed Leadership.
Each week learners will read a chapter outside of class. They are welcome to read ahead on their own. I will provide a syllabus. Students will also have access to weekly vocabulary words that will be discussed. They can define these words on their own ahead of class and find the words in the story. Questions over the chapter will be provided before and students can answer before or wait till we discuss the questions during the weekly class assignment. In conclusion with our class, I will give the kids an option to do a project over the book. (Don't worry it is option for those who would like to, and I will provide some options.)
Learners are assessed by an informal assessment according to the work they turn in. Their effort will be taken into consideration.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will refer to the book Frindle. This can be checked out at your local library or purchased at any bookstore.
