In this 6-week course students will learn about character traits, vocabulary, theme, language development, and dealing with hierarchy and rules.
Class experience
Below is a detailed breakdown of the class structure. Each week tells what chapters we will read. Listed underneath tells the main skill that will be stressed for those chapters. Vocabulary words and comprehension questions will accompany each chapter. At the end of the book project options will be provided for the learners as well as a book report. We will have book discussion and students will comment on weekly questions and respond to other learners. Week 1- Chapters 1-5 Week 2-...
Students will learn basic literary elements of novel. This will include theme, plot, character analysis, genre, and more.
I taught Reading for over ten years. Frindle was a book I used often in class to teach literary elements. I have a Masters in Ed Leadership.
