Class Experience
Designed to build self-confidence in peer interactions, we will start with a welcome and an icebreaker before moving through a series of slides, video clips, teacher-led group discussions, brainstorms, worksheets and fun quizzes. Students will: - Learn about the butterfly effect, and just like when a butterfly bats its wings in one location, it can create enough change in the atmosphere to change the path of a tornado in another location, so too do our actions impact the atmosphere around...
Students will learn about the butterfly effect and how their actions can have a positive impact. They will learn about positive and negative friendship qualities and what qualities to look for in their friendships.
Racheal Wallis is a Registered Social Worker (NZSWRB) and an experienced facilitator. She has worked with youth in New Zealand, London and Los Angeles and delivered social and emotional well-being programmes for 9-25-year-olds in schools, residential and community settings.
A handout will be given for this lesson.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
