In a mix of belly laughs and deep discussions, this play-based class offers a full, standards-based preschool / pre-K curriculum in social-emotional learning in a quick 30 minutes. Understand and handle emotions, connect with peers, and have a blast with Ms. Julie and Pippa.
Class experience
In Ms. Julie and Pippa's classes, the focus is on keeping kids connected, engaged, learning and smiling. On Thursdays, we play to learn all about feelings and social/emotional skills. Feel free to jump into the class at any point in its run; we'll do something new each week, so your learner won't be behind if they didn't start at the beginning. Students will learn and revisit their feelings and social/emotional skills through a variety of learning tools, including songs, dances, direct teaching, reading, and extension activities. Students will develop early literacy skills through interactive read-alouds. Students will develop and practice social skills through chats with friends.
I am entering my third year of teaching on Outschool. Prior to my time here, I was a classroom teacher for five years and taught years of weekly social/emotional support classes to middle school students. I have an MA in Education and two kids of my own (5 and 2) who both have big hearts and big feelings.
