In this weekly class, beginner, beginner/intermediate youngsters will learn chess fundamentals and play the game. Week of July 11th: Chess history and champs; chess pieces and how they move Week of July 14th: Leveraging the Pawn Week of July 21st: Knights and Bishops Week of July 28th: The Queen and Rook Partnership Week of August 1st: So does the King just stand there? Week of August 8th: Full Game Play Week of August 15th: Full Game Play Week of August 22nd: Mini tournament and info Each class will start with a puzzle warmup that is chess related and most likely mathematics-based. Materials will be shared from ChessInSchools products (puzzles and descriptions of pieces)
