For students participating in the Frida Kahlo Art and Collage Workshop, there are two creative paths to choose from for the final project: digital collages and paper collages. Here's what you'll need for each option: Option 1: Digital Collages Software: Access to a digital collage-making platform such as Canva, which offers a free version that is quite comprehensive. Canva allows for easy manipulation of images and text to create vibrant digital collages. Images: A collection of digital images. These can be sourced from Google images (ensure to use images labeled for reuse), personal photographs, or free image sites like Unsplash or Pixabay. Device: A computer or tablet capable of running the chosen software effectively. Option 2: Paper Collages Printed Images: Students will need to print images they want to include in their collage. This can include photos from the internet (remember to respect copyright laws), personal photos, or pictures from magazines. Glue: A glue stick or liquid glue for adhering your elements to the base of your collage. Mod Podge is also an excellent option for sealing the collage. Scissors: To cut out the images or elements for your collage. Assorted Items: Based on their interests, students can also include items like fabric scraps, buttons, beads, stickers, or any other small, flat objects that reflect their personal style and the inspiration drawn from Frida Kahlo's work. Base Material: A piece of cardboard, poster board, or heavy paper to serve as the foundation for the collage. For both options, students are encouraged to explore and include elements that resonate with them personally or are inspired by the themes, colors, and symbols found in Frida Kahlo's artwork. This approach ensures that each collage is a unique expression of the student's identity and creativity.
