Fresh Pasta Making 101 With Ms. Lisa of Chef It Up

Students will learn how to make fresh farfalle pasta ("bowtie") from scratch! All students will mix and measure to make their dough then roll it and have a parent help cook it up with a light browned butter sauce.

Class Experience

Students will learn how to measure, mix, crack eggs and make their own pasta dough from scratch under my careful guidance.  They will be having so much fun they will not even realize they are learning!  A parent will help with cooking it up and making a simple sauce for when the pasta is done they can enjoy together with their child or family.

We will conduct PRECISE measurements live in class: Pasta Ingredients: 3 1/2 cups of flour; 3 eggs; water; olive oil; salt Sauce: 1/2 stick unsalted butter; parmesan cheese; 2 cloves garlic Equipment needed: Rolling pin, fork, pizza cutter; mixing bowl & wooden spoon; measuring cups and measuring spoons, Good-sized stock pot for boiling the water to cook the pasta and small sauté pan for the sauce. Strainer or Colander
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents should be on hand to assist the kids if needed and will also need to assist with using a pizza cutter to cut into shapes and use the stove to cook up the fresh pasta.
